SCOUT PRESENTS: BUILDING A CREATIVE PLAYGROUND
Scout Presents is... many things. It is a platform for student creatives to share their work. It is a place for personal passion projects to live and grow. It is also a team and a community, where creatives come together and collaborate, bringing ideas to the table that excite them.
As the Project Lead for Presents, I was tasked with the challenge of spearheading a brand and website development that exemplified the idea of a creative playground. Our team knew that Presents had to have a brand that could speak to diverse interests and represented all different kinds of people.

To better understand a complex brand concept, I lead both the client and the team in creating various elevator pitches that could potentially create a path for the brand to follow. We wanted the founders of Presents to help us understand what their platform could mean to people and how we could translate its importance into a website and brand identity.
In addition to the elevator pitch, we collaborated with the team to work on an exercise called is, is not, could be which helped highlight keywords and phrases that expressed what the brand was. We wanted to make sure that everyone understood the brand’s core values and functions before diving into the design process
After weeks of iteration and development, we finally created a brand identity that had the mix of both fun and edginess that we’d been looking for. Afterparty is a concept that is both unique to Presents while also giving subtle nods to Scout through its sprinkle system. The bold typography and eyecatching colors create a welcoming brand identity that exemplifies the creative spirit of Scout Presents.
